CARMEN A FLAMENCO
Edita Adlerová - opera singer
Jana Drdácká - flamenco dancer

Composed project of opera singer Edita Adlerová and flamenco dancer Jana Drdácká with live accompaniment of Spanish guitars.

The principle of the project is the connection of themes from the opera „Carmen“ by G.Bizet with characteristic southern Spanish dance flamenco. The arias from the opera are preserved in the original version, sang by traditionally trained voice. The accompaniment for singing is arranged for Spanish guitar, flute and violoncello, which connects the idea of the topic with the character of the setting. Intermezzos from the opera are also arranged and used. The entrées of Carmen are completed by Spanish songs and interchanged with flamenco dance and play on castanets, percussion or the accompaniment of flamenco singer. Flamenco styles “palos“ are chosen to complete the mood of the arias – passionate duo Soleá por Bulerías, sorrowful Petenera, folklore Sevillanas, majestic Alegrías and high-spirited Bulerías. The costumes, both traditional and modern, highlight the emotions of each scene.

HARPSICHORD DUO
Edita Keglerová - harpsichord
Monika Knoblochová - harpsichord

The impulse for the collaboration of excellent harpsichordists was a fascination by non-traditional sound and colour possibilities, which arise from the consonance of two harpsichords. The connection of these keyboard instruments offers the hearer a unique combination of colours and registers, which by their wide range reach fully orchestral sound.

Both harpsichordist have performed a great number of concerts here and abroad, both solo and chamber performances. Within their artistic collaboration in chamber duo they use not only pieces composed directly for this cast, i.e. mostly baroque authors, but also a great number of interesting and original transcriptions, from trio sonatas to orchestral works. This uniquely colourful world creates place for new and interesting interpretative views, which bring extraordinary musical experience to the hearers.

Two full-evening programmes:
Programme from pieces by the authors of peak baroque:
J.S.Bach,F.Couperin,C.Ph.E.Bach,A.Soler
Programme focused on the year of Czech music anniversary, devoted to Czech authors only:
J.K.Vaňhal,L.Koželuh,J.A.Benda,L.Hurník,B.Martinů

DANCE MEETING WITH MADAME POMPADOURE
Edita Keglerová - harpsichord
Julie Braná - flutes

Harpsichordist Edita Keglerová and flautist Julie Braná present altogether with „Hartig“ ensemble and Helena Kazárová´s choreography a musical and dance meeting, which will lead you to the atmosphere of „gallant century“.

The propgramme consists of dances from various operas and ballets by J.B. Lully, Andre Campra and Pascall Colasse and of dances from commedia dell´arte (after the famous book of engravings by G. Lambranzi, published in Nuernberg in 1716), which are reconstructed after the original graphical records of Feullet notation and performed in period costumes.
Dance ensemble Hartig works as the only one in Czech and Slovak Republics with this authentic material, which reflects unique connection of music and dance in the great era of Louis XIV. And other European courts, for which the music and dance culture of France was an ideal one. Fulgida coeli stella
Arias and duets from Opera of second half of 18th century, extant till our days in „Sehling collection“ of the Archive of Prague Castle in form of arias with Latin text and chamber instrumentation adequate for the special use on the choir of St. Vitus´ Cathedral in Prague.

The repertory of a church music in 18th century was structured not only by church music composed for liturgy exigency but even by compositions originally written for Opera houses where they had a completely different social function. In musicological terminology is this phenomenon is called Contrafactum – famous opera arias were underlaid with sacred Latin texts to enable their use in the liturgy. collection of St. Vitus´ Cathedral in Prague placed in the Archive of Prague Castle features a precious documentary of music played in the second half of 18th century in Prague.

Our project draws on music collection called “Sehling collection” which obtains over 200 opera arias form 34 operas written by leading European composers of late Baroque era, such as A.Lotti, C.H.Graun, J.A.Hasse, G.B.Pergolesi, Ch.W.Gluck, B.Marcello.

Thanks to this collection it is easier today to identify the repertory of Prague Opera of first half of 18the century. Opera “v Kotcích” (nowadays Estate Theatre) where Mozart introduced his two new Operas as Don Giovanni and Clemenza di Tito, used to be “teatro impressionale” (rented by various opera companies) so without it´s own archive.

The “Sehling collection” was found in 1923 in a choir loft of St Vitus´Cathedral, elaborated and catalogued till recently. A selection of the Contrafacts in modern premiere was released in 2007 by Arta Records.

THE SORROWS OF YOUNG WERTHER
Edita Keglerová - harpsichord
Ivana Bilej Brouková - soprano
Tomáš Pavelka - artistic recitation

Musical-poetic soirée. Harpsichrod, soprano and artistic recitation.
The reading from the romantic novel in poems (in lines) „The Sorrows of Young Werther“ from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe with music of the early classicism. Music: W.A.Mozart, J.A.Benda, J.A. Štěpán, K.F. Zelter .

Goethe´s romantic (amorous) epistolar novel „The Sorrows of Young Werther“ (1774) is becoming the manifesto of literal stream „Sturm und Drang“, which founds the paralel in another artistic genres as well and is the foreshadowing of oncoming period of romanticism.
In this soirée can auditors compare the dramaticism and depth of the selected parts of Goethe´s novel with it´s musical illustration. Even wider mood colourness of the story comes with the choice of songs and harpsichord company. These songs are the poems of J. W. Goethe and his contemporaries, musicalizied by upper mentioned composers.

Brahms Trio Prague: The company of instrumental structure (violin, horn, piano), which is extraordinary and very attractive for auditors. Brahms Trio Prague inspires contemporary composers to creating of the original compositions. The first „sparrow“ of this effort will be „Variations“ by Jaroslav Pelikan.
